1) What does your hiring process look like?
Our hiring process is simple and transparent. We’re all about culture so we’re looking for stylists and barbers that love serving clients and providing an amazing experience.
Once you’ve applied for an open position you’ll hear back from us via email or phone on whether or not we’d like to interview you. All interviews happen on location and you’ll meet with a hiring manager and shop owner to discuss why you’d be a perfect fit as our next stylist.
2) What is your compensation structure?
Tommy Gun's wants you to be successful. As such, we offer a tiered compensation structure based on total service volume. This puts your income in your own hands, and allows for growth based on your clientele base. For full-time staff, benefits such as extended health, rrsp matching, paid vacation, and other perks are included.
3) Is there on the job training?
Yes! We encourage all our employees to continually learn new skills and improve on the ones they already have. All barbers and stylists go through an initial training phase to learn some of the services and treatment options we have.
4) How much experience do I need?
It depends. We usually encourage all applicants to have some experience in working in a salon or barbershop. The more experience the better but we know skill when we see it.
5) Do I require my own tools and equipment?
All tools and equipment to deliver all Tommy Gun’s services are provided for new Stylists/Barbers at a discounted rate, so you can start ready with your scissors, shaving tools, accessories, combs, and everything else you require.
